A Guide How to Root Lenovo A536 running Android 4.4.2 - Rooting is the best ways to begin modification or optimize your Android device, with rooting we can get administrator access so we can modified system files. But rooting is also have disadvantage and for sure your warranty will be void after rooting your device. Some advantage that can be obtain by rooting is you will be able to do backup restore current running ROM, installing custom ROM or changing custom recovery, remove unwanted applications from system folder, and many more.
Today i will give some guide how to rooting Lenovo A536, this guide can has possibility to brick your device when you accidentally erase system files with root access. So please consider it before following this guide.

Requirements :

  • Rooting Android 4.4.2 is not easy as Android 4.2.2, there is no one click method. Make sure you already installed custom recovery on your device. Lenovo A536, How to Installing Custom Recovery TWRP v2.7.1.0
  • Make your own backup preparations, 
  • This guide is for ROW or International version only and never tried for china version.
Download :
  • SuperSu v2.08 contains binary SU and SuperUser application.

  1. Download SuperSu v2.08 to your computer and then move or copy it to external SD Card, recommended if you place it on the SD Card root.
  2. Turn off your device
  3. Go to recovery mode, for Lenovo A536 you can press and hold Power Button + Volume Up + Volume Down button until you can see TWRP main menu.

  4. On TWRP main menu, select Install ↦ Select Zip to Install navigate to external SD Card and select SuperSu v2.08
  5. After finish with selecting file just do Swipe to Install, TWRP will show you the progress and will mark with Successful sign. Installation progress just only take 10-15 seconds so just wait for moments
  6. Done, back to main menu TWRP and just select Reboot

  1. What is the purpose of having your device rooted? What are its advantages and disadvantages as well? I am interested on this but is afraid of the consequences. Tried checking online for answers but it seems complicated and I am quite confused. Hope you can help me out with this.

      Root can give you many advantage such as you can install custom recovery. With custom recovery you can backup, restore, format and etc on your android system. With root you can change system files on your android device such as change theme, lock screen, change ui and etc this can be done if you know how to do it. But if ability to change the system files you also can accident erase system files that make your android brick, warranty will void if you root your device. I think that and i hope you undestand, ask me if you still dont understand

      I have a doubt .
      I rooted my lenovo a536 by kingo root. But when i restart the phone root permision will be lost. Whats the problem with it.....

      First i dont have any guide about Lenovo S636 so i dont know the method to flash it. Second i never use windows 10 i am afraid for compatibility with the driver.

    1. Your previous comment say Lenovo S636, Yes better use windows 7 than windows 10 because as i know windows 7 can be use for this guide. After installing driver device will only appear 5 seconds on device manager than disappear, but try to flash if flash tool not give reponds then reinstall the driver again

  5. hai andy?? its me again, sadly i failed after i pointed USB VCOM driver and click finish then after i disconnected my device but after i connected it again Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port appeared but it keep disappearing.. so something is wrong.. thats why Sp flash tool didnt recognize my device.. is there a soltuion for this>??? pls. help me andy... thank you.

      have you successful install the USB VCOM driver? if already successful and keep connect and disconnecting, i have ever read on some forum that you need to press volume up or volume down (i forget i am not sure) while connecting your device. maybe you can try it and see on the device manager.

  6. i have a question andy?.. after installing USB VCOM DRIVER do i have to stay connected my device without battery when processing SP flash tool?? or disconnect it afterwards??

    1. hi,
      after successful installing VCOM driver, you must disconnect your device first when processing SP Flash tool, then after pressing download or firmware upgrade on flash tool then connect your device.

    2. .. low andy.. an error message appeared... i think something wrong in SP FLASH TOOL.. IT DONT SHOW DOWNLOAD ONLY (2).. it only show download only.. and then Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port it still keep disappearing i push volume up and down it didnt work.. pls. andy? pls. help me..

    1. For install twrp using mobile uncle your device must be rooted first then just select recovery update then browse to recovery.img store on internal or sd card

    i rooted now my android i use kingroot to download and then i use flashify to flash twrp..
    I have a question andy after flashing custom ROM it will delete all your apps but how about the super su app after it will be deleted can i gain root acces after i re install it? or su binary will be updated as well? i replaced kinguser to super su and im afraid it can affect after flashing custom ROM..

    1. Yes it will affect with all applications even with system apps like root applications and su binary. Because it will replace your OS with custom OS, but usually custom rom is already rooted

  10. how to unroot it sir? when i try to open super user the super su said" theres is no binary installed and super su cannot install it. there is a problem if just upgraded to android 4.3 you need to manually reboot consult the relevant forums for your device"... that the issue sir..

    1. There is no su binary mean you not successful install the root so you cannot unroot itbecause your device not rooted
